The Surry County Community Center, including the grounds and picnic area, is available to the public as a site for meetings, social events, weddings, family reunions, and sporting events. Contact Surry County Parks and Recreation to reserve a date for your event and to obtain an application, as well as pricing information for use of the facility and/or grounds. (Map)

Annual Events Calendar:

July – Independence Day Celebration.
Early in July - Music, fireworks, food (all day).

August - Surry County African-American Heritage Festival & Family Reunion Weekend
Ethnic foods, children's games, and African-American History. The festival begins on Saturday and ends after dark with a fireworks demonstration. Events resume on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.

September - Nottoway Indian Powwow
3rd week of September,Nottoway Indian Tribe of VA, Inc. Annual Pow Wow. Indigenous peoples of Surry County and surrounding areas will present
Native Dance, Drumming, Food, Arts, Crafts, Jewelry. Bring blankets/ lawn chairs for a beautiful day of outdoors, cultural, family fun and activities! No pets or alcohol. Grand Entry at 12 noon Saturday and 1 pm Sunday.

The Enos House is located on the grounds of Surry County Parks and Recreation, near the junction of State Routes 10 and 31 in Surry County, Virginia. It is a story-and-a-half, four-bay structure, built Circa 1820.

(The County has plans to restore the structure in the future, but because of safety concerns, cannot open the interior to the public. You may view the building from the outside when you visit the Parks & Recreation grounds.)
