Did you know that Smith's Fort, or Gray's Creek Farm as it was then known, was purchased in 1886 by four Black families?
It is through their efforts that the home is preserved in its original state. Join Preservation Virginia's 2024 College of William and Mary Summer Intern, Faith Page, for a special Black History Tour of the property now called Smith's Fort. Her research has been the catalyst for these unique and special glimpses into the lives of the African descendants who lived on this property.
Tours are available on Saturday, March 29th, Saturday, April 26th, and Saturday, May 31st at 10:00 AM. Tours are free, but guests must pre-register in advance. Limited spaces available.
