Beach Clean-Up Day, Saturday, April 22, 2023, 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Earth Day is the perfect time to volunteer to do something good for our planet! Meet park staff at the Visitor Center for instructions and clean-up supplies (gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers, etc.) Expect a prize for the person accumulating the most trash. No additional fees.

Garden Tea Party, Saturday, April 22, 2023, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Sponsored by The Friends of Chippokes on the grounds of the Jones-Steward Mansion. Visitors can enjoy a variety of teas and treats on the side porch of this beautiful historical home. The English garden, established by Albert Carroll Jones in 1854 and brought back to life by Evelyn Stewart after 1918, is just steps away. No additional fees.

Historic Home is open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Grounds and garden available for viewing daily

Garden Tours are available on the following dates from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Learn the history of one of the oldest formal English gardens in North America! Heirloom seeds are available for purchase. This tour is included in the general admission ticket price;  guests may purchase garden tour tickets only at a reduced cost of $5.00.

Village Faire Event, Saturday, April 29, 2023, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

In Britain, fêtes are traditional outdoor festivals that typically include entertainment and the sale of goods and refreshments. Following in this tradition, Bacon's Castle has planned a similar celebration of Spring and country life. Your general admission ticket includes an open house tour and all activities on the grounds including traditional games, tug-of-war, armored combat demonstrations, Maypole dance, face painting, and more. Vendors will be onsite providing food and drink, crafts, jams and jellies, and fresh produce. Purchase tickets in advance here.
