Thank you for your interest in vending for events held by the County of Surry, Virginia. The following are basic requirements to become a vendor.
- Peddler’s permit from the Town of Surry (for events in the town limits) and/or a business License from the County (for events in the county limits) of Surry. If you do not have either of these, you will need to contact the town or county (contact information below) to obtain them and submit to with your application.

- If you operate a food truck, you must provide us with proof of your Virginia Health Department permitting.
- All food vendors must submit a Temporary Food Establishment permit application (link to the form at the VDH website) regardless of whether they have been permitted for a Surry County event previously. If the vendor is permitted in the state of Virginia, there is no need to pay $40 for the TFE permit.
- Vendors from out of state or those not permitted must submit the complete application, along with a $40 check or money order, to the Crater Health Department 10 days before the event.

- Once an application is received, along with availability dates if applicable, all necessary permits and licenses are provided, and vendors will be chosen and assigned.
- Please provide us with a copy, online link, or description of your menu.
- Submission does NOT automatically qualify as approved.
