February is Black History Month
Each Tuesday during the month of February we will post to Facebook interesting articles and information about the African American experience in Surry County.
Articles will explore the list of registered free Blacks from 1803 to 1862 and why they had to be registered, Smallwood Institute, the story and accomplishments of Goodman Brown, and Blacks who served in the Union Army during the Civil War.
